  1. Which IM services can I access through mundu IM? You can access the following four services through mundu IM: Yahoo®, MSN®, AIM®, and GTalk®
  2. Will you charge for this product? At this point, we have no plans of charging you for this product. So go ahead and enjoy your chats!
  3. Is mundu IM Server / client based? It is a Server based IM. It rules out the need to install a standalone client making it a easy-to-use experience.
  4. Is the user data like Username, Password and data transmissions secure? All these transmissions happen through http POST methods. And therefore are not encrypted and network sniffers can potentially capture the transmissions. However the server does not store any Username/Password/Data. And therefore there is no risk of this information being exposed.
  5. Can I use my .mac account with AOL? Yes, mundu IM uses the OSCAR protocol and it allows .mac logins with the AOL service.
  6. I don't see a group name to add my contact; what group does it get added to? When you add a contact, it by default gets added to a group called "Recent Contacts". Our future versions will have the support for choosing a group name to add the contact.
  7. Does mundu IM support Offline messages? Yes, Gtalk, AOL and Yahoo support sending / receiving of offline messages.
  8. How can I set my presence status on mundu IM? The status messages can be set by tapping on the presence message on the toolbar in the Contact's screen and selecting one among them.
  9. Do I get an alert on a new message while using the application? Yes, the Chat tab will come alive with speech balloons bubbling up. Additionally, a "chat" icon will appear against the contact name from whom the message is received. Once you navigate to the "Chat" tab, the contact's tab has a different shade of color to indicate that there is an unread message.
  10. How do I know when a buddy sends me an IM and I am not in the browser? Currently we do not have an alert that comes up on a New message when you are not in the page.
  11. Is the Timestamps feature available for mundu IM? Yes, each message that is received in mundu IM is prefixed with the time at which its received.
  12. Does mundu IM support Emoticons? Yes, several popular shortcuts are interpreted to the standard icons and send the same. You can try using :-) or :-(.
  13. Does mundu IM allow logging in to a service in the "Invisible" mode? Yes, mundu IM allows you to log in to Yahoo and AOL in the invisible mode.
  14. Do I receive calls on iphone when using IM? Yes, you will be able to receive calls.
  15. What happens when you are logged in to mundu IM and then refresh the browser? when the page is refreshed, you will still be logged into the services. But all the current chats will be lost.
  16. When I navigate to a different page in the browser, will I be still logged into mundu IM? Yes, you will be logged in and all your chats will be intact when you navigate away from the page. However, if you are away from the page for a long period of time, you may get logged out due to the limitation of the browser. We are working on automatic reconnect feature in future version.
  17. What happens if I use mundu IM on multiple pages? Unpredictable things may and most likely will happen. You are advised to connect through only one page to mundu IM.
  18. I find the Login and Logout to be longer than usual; why is that? We have observed that a contact list of more than 200 contacts (for all services) exhibits a delay as the browser takes time to process large contact lists.

    Our technical team is working on alternate ways to make it faster. Meanwhile, do drop us a line at imsupport@mundu.com if you think the delay is unmanageable.
  19. It loads so fast on the WIFI; it really takes a lot of time to load the pages on the EDGE. We know! The EDGE connection has limited bandwidth and it is really difficult to do too much better. We are at it though.
